Tbe corrugated 6teel. which is needed to complete the rout, is still on the road and the steel lor' the doors bas not yet made Its appearance. Iu the absence of such material the construction con-struction Is advancing slowly. The force of men now working are engaged in putting in the plumbing and the steam fit tig. This work will soon be completed ntnl should the steel arrive ll will not be long heroic he-roic the entire building will be ready for occupancy, as much of the interior inter-ior work has been finished. The proposed umbrella sheds for the passenger depot have uot been started because of the non-arrival of material. While it is contended by some railroad men that the absence of material Is due to a desire on the part of the company to conserve their financial resources until the money conditions are better In the eat. the offisclals deny that there is any Intention In-tention on the part of the compay to retard any of the local work of lm-provemetiL lm-provemetiL Assistant Sufifrintendcnt P. V. Kaston states that the work on the Ogden-Lucin cut-off is being pushed to completion as iQpldly as possible, that the force at work there Is as laige as at any time since the work started. Two steam shovels aire being be-ing used and. according to the assistant assist-ant suerintendent, about two hundred men are at work. When the work of ballasting Is started, which will be in the near future, fu-ture, a gracl bank Is to be opened and one of the steam shovels will be used at the bank. Just now the workmen work-men are finishing the raiding of the track at the west end to the level ol the trestle |
