KAREN HANSON I Ephralnv Oct. n. Yesterday after-1 after-1 noon Mrs. Karen Hanson, another of the pioneers of this city, was called to the great beyond after an Illness I cf several weeks. Mrs. Hanson was j a member of tho hand cart company ! of 1ST.7, which was under the leader-t leader-t ship of Christian Chrisl'anson. Mrs Hanson was born in Denmark, May 3, 1S2". and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Jacob Xiehon. She became converted con-verted to the Mormon religion when a young woman and emigrated to Utah some years later In company with her two sisters. When they reached Iowa they found the hand carts in readiness for the long and perilous journey across tho plains, and she nnd her sislei-s were placed J in charge ot one of the cart., and the ' three pulled the cart the entire dL- |
