Although peveral prosper tors and lopsers were at work along tho shores of the Bering Ber-ing river when the glacial flood, which swept down the valley several days ago, started, the forestry department believes that no lives were lost. Tho hlgb hills that border the river made it easy for tho prospectors and homesteaders home-steaders to get out of the danger zone. , Forest Ranger JohnBon will leac Cordova nxt week for a tour of the Tood swept district to determine the exact extent of the damage. He will nliio investigate the glacier itself to see what caused the flood. Five glacial lakes form a chain between be-tween Carbon mountain and Bering glacier.
