Show NO ADVANCE PIMM COAL In spito or tho fact that the Union Pacific Coal company has sent out notice announcing that tho price of coal will be advanced 2o cents per ion at tho Hock Springs mine, there la no indication that the price of this fuel will be advanced In Ogden. As a result of tho Increased prico to retailers, a Salt iJike paper states that the dealers of that city may de- cldo to advance t hi price Su cents per ton to consumers. 'There It no indication of an immediate imme-diate advance iu coal prices in Ogden," Og-den," said John Karr of the Farr Coal company last night, "On account ac-count of the numerous coal dealers In this city there teems to be a tendency ten-dency to reduce the price rather than advance it I received a notice from the Union Pacific stating that tho price of Rock Springs coal would be advanced, but there Is not a great deal of this coal sold In Ogden." According to Mr. Farr, the greater part of the coal sold In Ogden comes from the mines of the Utah Fuel company. com-pany. Ihe Central Coal & Coke company com-pany and tho Consolidated Fuel company. com-pany. In the opinion of the Salt Lake coal dealers the action of the Union Pacific Pa-cific will be followed b other large coal producers throughout the stale, as the prevailing feeling of the trade Keems to be that price are loo low, there being little profit In the business busi-ness at the current prices. Such an action on the part of tho wholesalers at large would probably force retail dealers to advance the price. |
