Show G. H.Williams, a Philosopher, Philoso-pher, Ends His Life in a Denver Hotel Denver, Colo., Oct. 21. "Affl'ctcd In mind, body and estate and unfitted to copo with the material world." as he wrote In the message that he left behind him, George Hubert Willlama, aged 48 years, Socialist and philosopher, philoso-pher, of Marysvlllc, Cal., came to Denver three days ago apparently for the sole purpose of taking his life, drank morphine at a local hotel on Wednesday nipht. Twenty hours later lat-er ho was found unconscious In his rooms and removed to a hospital where he died Into la?t night On tho dresser In Williams' room nt the hotel was found tho following note, written with an Indelible pencil and stained blue as though by tears: "I have drifted Into dreary middle life Poverty-stricken and friendless. I view with alarm the prospect of a dependent old atce. I was never fitted to cope with the material world and am afflicted In mind, body and estate. "I hope this Is the last paper I shall see for any purpose I pray that my lodge brothers will break the news as gently aa possible to my wife as she has heart disease. She Is of the Woodcraft I am a Wodman of the World In good standing In Evergreen, Ever-green, Washington. "My name is George Hubert Williams. Wil-liams. Mv wife's address is Marys-vine, Marys-vine, Cal. Son's address is 1322 I street, Sacramento" Among 'Williams' effects was discovered dis-covered a small notebook the pages of which were filled w'th closely written philosophical essays and epigrams upon religion, morality, jnstico anil politics, most of which were apparently apparent-ly his own. The book showed Will-lams Will-lams to have been a man of education educa-tion and culture.
