Show qJocifty' Mls Bertha Laird entertained Ihe Young Peoples' Bible clas of the First Methodist church at her home, 2346 Qulncy avenue, Monday evening. CHILD CULTURE CLUB. Mrs. Kate S Hlliard was hostess to the Child Culture club at its meeting meet-ing last Tuesday. The affair was an entertaining one, tho program, decorations dec-orations and luncheon being corrlod out in honor of St. Patrick's day. The rooms were beautiful In festoons of green, shamrocks, ferns, green carnations, car-nations, Irish emblems and flags. The program numbers were greatly enjoyed, urnong the numbers being a piano solo by Mrs. 'Hllliard; duet, "Kathleen Mavourneen," Mrs. P. T. Wrie-ht and Mrs J. T. Lynch; whlstl- ing solo, with piano accompaniment. Dr. Ruth Hllliard; solo, ' Rory O'More," Roy Southwlck; solo, "Believe "Be-lieve Me, If All Thy Endearing Charms." Mrs. Frances Kohn, talk on Irish women, by Mrs. Hllliard; song. "Come Back to fcrin," Mrs. I. T. Lvnch; Irish Jig, Roy Southwick; solo, Mrs P. T. Wright; guessin? contest. Irish patriots; ftorles of Irish wit and Irish Jokes, by the club ladles. Tho luncheon In two courses, a pretty pret-ty feature of the afternoon, was served by the hostess. Dr. Alice Ridge pud Dr. Ruth Hllliard, attired in green with Miss Daisy Maginnis as the Irish servant girl. The menu, first course, Irish stew, nut bread, tea; second course, Ices with green decorations, decora-tions, cakes with green frosting and Irish flags. |
