Although arrangements were not completed, com-pleted, the result of tho conference was a decision to erect a much larger building than was at lirst planned and, instead of a three-slory bulldine CO.x 120 feel, it is probable that a huge skyscraper, covering almost one-quarter of the block, will be erected by the Peerys and John E. Doolcy, who owns the land adjo;nlng the Peery lot on either side. The meeting was between Joseph Peery of Salt Lake nnd Horace Peery and-ilarold Peery of Ogden and local real estate men. and there was also a conference with J. E. Dooly, The Peerys own the lot at West Temple and Third South streets, with a frontage of about sixty feet on Third South and 1U0 feet ou West , Temple street Mr. Dooly owns t he-land he-land on the north and west. The comer lot was a part of the estate of the late D H. Peery, who about three years ago planned the erection of a hotel en the side. The foundations of concrete were completed com-pleted when all work was stopped by the death of Mr. Peery and the concrete con-crete pillars and cross beams in the basement have remained untouched for more than two jears. These will be dug out, and although the deal between the Peerys and Mr. Dooly has not been closed. It Is probable that work will be started within the next thirty days. |
