The Bur-. linglpn' railroad, haa decided lo.uUllie the Dig Horn Canyon route for the extension of Its Klrby line to a connection con-nection with the Colorado & Southern South-ern at Orln Junction. This Is shown by tho payment to H. E. Wadsworth, agent In charge of the Wind Klver reservation, of f 1,340 for a right of way across a corner of tho ceded portion por-tion of the reserve. This land was 'ceded by the Indians to the government over two years ago, but the Burlington has paid the Indians In-dians for the right of way becauc tho latter was located before the ce'sslou of the land to the government, and payment therefor to the Indians wa Involved In the cession agreement. The purchase of this right or way at the south end of the canyon of the Big Horn river establishes conclusively conclusive-ly that the Burlington will use the canyon. |
