Haywood, Hay-wood, the Socialist lecturer, was twice arrested jesterday for violating the state anti-clgarrtu. law, which went Into effect June 9, The first time that Haywood fell Into the hands of the officers was In Ellensburg, where he was taken into custody by a deputy I sheriff just as he was placing a cigar- I ette into his mouth. He was released on $15 bonds. Later in the day he went to North Yakima, where he had a lecture engagement en-gagement ' While- smoking a cigarette cigar-ette in a saloon, the sheriff entered and placed him under arrest, Haywood Hay-wood protested against such action, but. the sheriff was firm. Haywood was again released under $15 bond. |
