Show UNIVERSITY CLOSES FOR PRESENT YEAR Salt Lake, May 26. The Latter-Day Saints' university ended its school year 3'esterday and the doors of the institution are closed until the fall semester opens in September. At the chapel exercises yesterday B. S. Hinckley of the commercial department depart-ment commended the students upon their excellent work for the year. A. B. Christen6en of the high school department de-partment talked in a similar vein. There were fifty-seven students who received certificates of graduation. A number of changes will be made in the faculty when the school Is reopened re-opened In the fall. Henry Peterson, who for ten years has been Instructor in languages, will go to the Brlgham Young university at Provo. Changes will also be made in the commercial and high school departments. The field day sports are in progress at Wandmere today. Commencement exercises will be held in Barnett hall . tomorrow evening when the graduates will be presentt-d with their diplomas by Authon H. Lund of the first presidency presi-dency of the Mormon church. A banquet will be given In honor of the graduates at the Lion house Friday evening, at which the Alumni association associa-tion will be the hosts. |
