Show PHI PITCHES BRILLIANT GAME Speed Ball Chucker of Apex Team Takes 8 to 3 Tilt from Magna Lads Anderson and Swan Make Homers. Hom-ers. Forrest Parry did his "stuff" Sunday Sun-day afternoon at Utah Copper ball park, and Magna went home on the short end of an 8 to 3 tilt. Besides holding the Millmen safe at all times, the Apex flinger smashed out three hits during the matinee, two of them being two baggers, and his hitting drove in three runs, besides the two he himself registered. Although hit for 12 blows, the speed ball pitcher didn't allow the Magna men to get to the bases until two men were out, and four fast double plays also aided him in keeping the visitors' visi-tors' score to a minimum. Jay I.ott, the Lehi friend of Les Goates, was on the mound for Magna, and aside from the fourth frame, when the Apex swooped down on him for six hits and five runs, he pitched a nice brand of ball. Anderson started this inning with a terrific clout to deep center that bounced over the fence, and before Lott could get his bearings, four other runners had clicked the platter. . From a fielding standpoint the game was brilliant, Apex making no less than four double plays, while a one handed leaping catch by Wes Saddler from the bat of Ken Anderson Ander-son was a clever piece of work. Ring-wood Ring-wood also came in for a round of applause ap-plause when he speared with one hand a line drive from Myers doubling Nielsen at first. McBride also starred star-red in centerfield. Archibald accepted accept-ed nine chances without a bobble. The box score.
