Nerden, the hot tatnale merchant, by his wife, Maria, was brought up this morning, the Judge having taken the same under un-der advisement. Nerden was called before the court and given a considerable amount of good advice as lo his future actions. He was told to consider the nervous temperament of his wife with whom ho had lived for 26 years, saying that if she wanted a divorce from him and his presence at her home continued contin-ued to prove a source of discord, he should go away and leave her at peace. "Those children," said the judge, "are yours and you have got to support sup-port them. This quarreling and fiRht-ing, fiRht-ing, however, has got lo stop. You have no richt to strike your wife no matter what the provocation. You may disarm her. If she should attack you during a loss of temper, but don't iet me hear of vou striking her again. You may go now and I will let the matter stand as it Is," |
