Twenty-ninth street and Jefferson ; avenue had been entered and the pay- roll checks from 762C to 7645 Inclu-j Inclu-j siv e stolen, a juvenile was arrested In i the act of attempting to cash one of the checks. lie confessed to having committed the burglary and to having been implicated im-plicated in the burglary of the Hamilton Hamil-ton Grocery store, 2836 Monroo avenue ave-nue recently. The report of the Ashton Fire Brick & Tile company burglary was received receiv-ed at 810 o'clock this morning and Detectives R. H. Woolton and George Phillips went to the office and while engaged In taking finger prints left by the burglars, were Informed from police headquarters that a man was attempting to cash s check at the store of Max Ollash. 210 Twehty-flfth street for $24.78. bearing one of the pay roll numbers The arrest of the boy followed. At police headquarters a number of the checks each of which had been made out. but not signed were found In his possession. He admitted having been Implicated In the burglary and the police are searching for a companion who is alleged al-leged to have been with him and who he said had the other checks, the re-tnalndi re-tnalndi r of tho missing payroll checks. |
