Some of the old timers simply will not listen to tho Idea that the president presi-dent will not run. They say that every' ev-ery' president wants a second term, as a vindication of his policies in the first. Mr. Harding, on the other hand, believes be-lieves that the presidency should bo a one-term affair. Ho would lengthen length-en tho term from four to six years. He believes the president would havo more freedom under such a plan than h possible under the system which leads to constant consideration of second sec-ond term prospects. The indications are today Mr. Harding Har-ding is likely to koep the politicians on the anxious seat for sornc tLmo to come. |
