"Water' explained Roddy, "Is sometimes the best friend a T"ox has. If you want to leave no trail Just walk ln the water. Now. you youngsters young-sters stay with your mother until you hoar mo bark Then see which of you Is smart enough to find me." The four young FFoxes sat down with thdr mother, while Reddy trotted trot-ted away around the Smiling Pool and disappeared among the bushes along the Laughing Brook where It entered the Smiling Pool Very o.re the four little Foxes looked as they sat with their sharp cars cocked, "QuIU? right, my dear, quite right," agreed Reddy. waiting for their father to bark.
