Show NOTED PUBLISHER'S FUNERAL ARRANGED CHICAGO, Nov. 24 Arrangements for tho funeral of Henry X. Carv, j general manager of the Chicago New.-paper New.-paper Publishers' association, who died Thursday night, were being made today. Death was caused by pneumonia pneu-monia after an illness of three weeks. Ho was 61 cars old. Mr Cary was born in Racine. Wis In 1858 Soon after graduating from tho public schools at La Cygne, Kan he began his journalistic trade as a printer of the Journal. Some years later ho moved to Milwaukee where ho became a reporter on the Sentinel, finally beln advanced to th- post of I managing editor. In 1SS9 he became managing ed-J ed-J itor of the Chicago Times Later he I became western manager of the Now I York Associated Press, managing ed- Ltor of the Verdict, New York, man-, laging editor of the New York Morn-j lng Telerap'i, general Tiittnafrer of i the Detroit Free Press, and peneru. manager of the St Louis Republic. He was known throughout the country by 1 newspaper men. Ho Is survived by a -widow and two! children. |
