Show NATURAL GAS FOR OGDEN. There seems to be an inexhaustible H 'jody of gas in the Baxter basin field, i-ear Hock Springs, Wyoming, and there has-been talk of a pipe line to I convey the gas to tho principal cities' of Utah. It is estimated the coat of the line would be $4,000,000 to $5,000,-000, $5,000,-000, with a prospective market of mm billion cubic feet of gas annually. Thi present consumption in Ogden, Salt Lake, Provo and Logan is 600.000,000 cubic feet. Natural gas, if delivered at a price to compete with coal, might displace a big percentage oL the coal consumed in Ogden and SalB.ake In Salt Lake ihe smoke nuisance caused by the burning of soft cflal has become a serious se-rious problem and with the growth of Ogden similar conditions may be developed. de-veloped. General use, of gas for cooking cook-ing and heating purposes would eliminate elimi-nate smoke clouds. Utah would be greatly benefited b the introduction of natural gas. |
