Tonight Approximately 600 persons, mpm-Ibers mpm-Ibers of tho Woodmen of tho World organization, or-ganization, were in attendance at the Berthana hmi last, nijriit at tin la-st of tho initiatory ceremonies In which 98 candidates wero given their degree de-gree work In tho order. Mayor Frank Francis delivered thO address of welcome. Among prominent official of tho or-p; or-p; ni.-ition present were Thomas H. j Itoblnson. hrd l'-rk, Thomas LawSOtl of Salt Lake, head 08C4 and R. Mr Robinson spoke on the finances of the organization nnd of what was, heintr accomplished for the many members In that line Mr. Lawaon spoke on the subjeel of fraternallvm as did District Manacr RunselL Music for the occasion was fur-' r.lshed h the Woodmen ot 'lie World' orchestra and vocal selections were sung by the lister Hlnchi llff quartet. Including the three degree teams there wore .about 100 members present pres-ent from Salt Take. who arrived In a special train over tho Bamberger I electric. Following the ceremonies at the T.orthana the members adjourned to the W. O. W. hall. L'3J0 Washington avenue, where a buffet luncheon was served William Muller. clerk of the Weber camp, said this morning that approximately approxi-mately 100 members from Ogden would go on a special train to Salt Lake tonlK.f to attend a similar event at Salt Lake. Tho local members met the visitors at Twenty-fifth street nnd Lincoln av -nue last night upon their arrival from Salt Lake and a parade was formed that marched to Washington avenue, thence north to Twenty-fourth street and thence west to the Berthana hall. |
