In this the orchestra was somewhat unfortunate, due perhaps to timidity before an audience, but the B organization more than redeemed ll- self by Its performance of the pop-ular pop-ular overture, "Raymond, ' a rather 1 difficult number. The manner in which the orchestra played this overture demonstrated what a community orchestra can do and should be the encouragement to keep the organization intact and prog-rcssmg. prog-rcssmg. Remaining numbers on the orches-tra's orches-tra's program, including Prlml's "Mel- odie" end a popular waltz, were also well played. 1 Among the highlights of the eve- ning, were the solo and duet num-bers num-bers by members of the orchestra Miss Doris Proudfil and Herman Fet-scher Fet-scher played a violin duet which was H' ery well received Thev responded With an encore. The tWo played with fine tone and in perfect tunc. Their offerings were musical gems I .Miss Bdrls Christensen playi 'I two saxophone solos. She gets a rich, smooth tone from the Instrunv at and phrases with grace and precision, i Tho audience warmly applauded Miss Helen Hunter, cellist, who ployed two numbers, one the difficult l'opper i "Trantellc." Mis:, Hunter's Bplendid I tone and graceful technique were much in evidence in both numbers.
