Show PROTESTANTS ASKED NOT TO QUIT IRELAND Michael Collins Declares There Will Be Civil and Religious Liberty DUBLINV May 13 (By the Associated Asso-ciated Press.) Michael Collins, head of the Irish provisional government, today received a deputation from the Protestant synod, asking assurance as to whether the government desired de-sired that Protestants should stay In Ireland or leave the country. Mr Collins assured them on the part of j the present or anv succeeding gov- ernment in Ireland that the governy l ment would protect Irish citizens and insure civil and religious liberty.
