Show NEVADA CON. WILL RESUME OPERATIONS ELY, Nov., May 2. Two steam shovels will start operating In the Ruth pit of the Nevada Consolidated Copper company's property this k and six ball mills with ;i total .a-paclty .a-paclty of 2D00 tons per 1 4 hour have been started at the McGlll mill. The Nevada Consolidated resumed oporatlon about the middle of March, but owing to the coal strike a suspension sus-pension occurred two weeks later. The management Is now confident that It will have a sufiiclent tonnage of coal on hand to continue work steadily There are plenty of men in camp to meet ull demands on labor. General Manager C. B Iakenan. In outlining the policy of resumption, said that an ample tonnage of ore had arrived at the smelter to blow In one reverberatory this week. Mr. Lakenan said "There are at present about 2501 men working in the underground and) shovel pit mines at Ruth and 600 men at MoGill it Is not the Intention of the company to materially increase tho pay roll during the next two months, as many employes who were previously engaged In construction and upkeep work will be put on operations." |
