Show I OLD FOLKS OF WEBER COUNTY FETED ATLORIN FARR PARK Official Canvass Shows 1642 Present; 58 More Than 90 Years Old; Lunch Served Under Trees; Program Follows in Afternoon I Nearly noon old foii of Weber county, all more than 70 years of agl, enjoyed tho annual old folks' outing today in Dorln Farr park, given by the four wards of the L. D. S. church, but inviting as their jrucsis all old persons, regardless of creed of color. The official canva-s showed that there were 1,6-12 agi d pertona present, with 5s of them ovei the 90-year mark. They arrived at the park shortly bo-fore bo-fore noon in automobiles furnished through th- ward committees and at 12 o'clock sat down to an elaborate .imner of chicken various kinds of (neat, salads, potatoes, soft drinks, strawberries and cream, coffee, cake and many other dainties Each ward had us tables arranged in 8 shady spot under the blj? park (hade trees and tool; care of their aged guests at dinner. At the com-pletlo com-pletlo nof th'1 dinner, bishops in some of the wards gave brief addresses at the table and then the old folks mingled min-gled with their friends and renewed acquaintances until 2 o'clock when the program opened mayor is spi;ki;r. Mayor Frank Francis, as giiesl of the Second ward at dinner, gave a brief address In nich he compllmcnt-j ed the committees in carrying oul their work so efficiently and paid; tribute to the old folks of that ward Figures gathered by the committee showed that Weber stake had 44S old folks; North Weber stake, 444; Ogden stake, 720. and Mount Ogden stake. 1 348. Just before dinner the ladles' Mu-I Mu-I ni' lpal band played several selections from the bandstand and a quartet sane from table to tabic wnlle dinner din-ner was being served PROGRAM THIS AFTERNOON. h program was scheduled to begin I at I o'clock, opening with a reading i l.y I'.ertha Rcelos Wright A costume dance was to be offered by the Eccles children, and a billet dance l.y M . I Veda Wright Hy Stow was scheduled sched-uled to clve a comedy stunt with mu,-slcal mu,-slcal Instruments, followed by a solo by William Wright The children of the Second ward were to present a sketch. Sonus and addresses were also on the program. The general committee in charge of the outing wjm composed of W. O. I I Ridges, K. A Larkln, J. H, Riley, H. I H, Shurtlllf and D. A VanDyke. Al i Juries Woods was chairman of the program committee. The ground.', committee was headed by J. G Kllis and 'he reception committee by N A Tanner, Gomer A.
