Show no HOOVER'S RELIEF WORK IS RECOUNTED SALT LAKE, March 23 Salt Lake iRotarlans and a delegation from the Ogden Rotary club and their wives met Herbert Hoover at luncheon yes-terdav yes-terdav in the Hotel Ftah and heard tho present secretary of commerce tell of the supplying of physical needs of the war-stricken people of Europe I Not only did Mr. Hoover tell th story of liow 12.000,000 children of Europe have been saved through the relief undertaken by America, but th storv was Illustrated In simple but most Impressive fashion by a tableau and topical music. As. Mr Hoover rose to the Introduction Intro-duction by Governor Mabey the curtains cur-tains of a stage at one end of the ballroom, ball-room, where luncheon was served, parted Beside plies of American foodstuffs, flour, milk and canned goods, stood two American marines the figure of l'ncle Sam nnd a Red Cross nurse. Then, as the music began the national isong of Belgium. S child In native costume cos-tume fame forward and was handed America's gift of food. As successive national anthems were sung, each in the mother tongue, there came the children representing Franco. Poland Armenia. Russia and "hlna. and each I was offered and accepted America's Raving help. The tableau was unexpected and thr applause for Mr Hoover had not sub-Slowd sub-Slowd when thr first child came forward. for-ward. It took onlv a moment for the audience to catch tho significance of the scene, and not a person who witnessed wit-nessed it but that was deeply moved. Including Mr Hoover, who followed every movement, every gesture of the children with eyes that sometimes seemed almost to fill with tears.
