John Drew, member of one of the oldest theatrical families in the world, says: "I do not think the, actors in the old days were better than they are today, excepting, perhaps, Booth and Barrett and the old tragic school." Everything looks better a long time after it happens. Each generation is obsessed wilh the notion that things are going to pot, compared with the good old days.
