Show FARMERS TO BUILD MUTUAL CREAMERY, WTLLARD. March 24. Tentative; 1 plans toward the formation of a co-I co-I operative creamery to handle milk ' and cream products Of Mantua. Perry j I and Wlllard, were discussed at a J meeting of the Box Elder county farm bureau held here yesterday. It was decided to build a creamery 'either at Perry or Wlllard. to be owned and operated by the patrons. Only those sending milk and cream will be permitted to own stock. It 1 ' likely the plant will bo placed at I . Wlllard, as the truck delivering rmlk ' from Mantua also could brlDg milk I from Perry by trailer, thus cutting the ost materially, as another truck , would he needed from Willa.rd if the creamery weie at Perry The bureau also took up the roat-j roat-j tor of signing tho potato crop wltb the I'.oyle agency. This company will' liandle all crop at the producers' rik I for 10 per cent commission. Only farm bureau members are permltteJ ' to sign, however, as the agency Is be-' ing (nought in by tho bureau members, mem-bers, who feel that those farmers not willing to become members should ' not benefit by organization plans. Such a plan, however, materially , affects the farmers at WillaiA. Th-i are about 160 fanners In Wlllard. but I only 30 are bureau members. It was decided also to plant IS acres of cantaloupes, as the soil and ! cllmato arc favorable to this crop. |
