Show LODGE TO LEAD SENATE AGAIN Committees Will Be Reduced and Democratic Voice Cut to Minimum WASHINGTON, March " Senator Lo'dfre. of Massachusetts, floor leader, and other Republican officers of the senate organization, were re-olected today without opposition. Resides re-electing Senator Lodge floor leader, the senate Republicans again chose Senator Cummins of Iowa, for president pro tempore and Senator Sena-tor Curtis of Kansas for vice-chairman and party whip Committee assignments were left to the usual committee on committees which Senator Ijdgo was authorized to appoint, together with the Steering committee. All senate committees are to be reduced re-duced under new rules. Preponderance Preponder-ance of Republicans may cause the loss of a few places, but the Democrats Demo-crats with reduced representation, will .suffer the most. No changes In Mnate chairmanship are planned. There Is considerable rivalry for position po-sition on the foreign relations committee com-mittee to fill tho vacancy caused by !),, .-elertlon of former Senator I'all as secretary Of the interior. |
