Isj the opinion of Superintendent W. Karl Hopkins of the gden schools. Who has returned fiom the convention ot superintendents held at Atlantic City. While In the east Superintendent Hopkins Hop-kins Inspected the Washington Irving hlKh school at New York City, a school which' has an enrollment of 5000 students. stu-dents. "Although the students of the Washington Wash-ington Irving high school are rated with the best In the entire country, their work is only better In my opinion in two departments over the work being done at the Ogden high school," said Superintendent Hopkln. today. "In commercial art and Industrial art the students have an advantage over the Ogden students, the fine equipment which they have, naturally, natural-ly, has h tendency to make them more proficient In these lines. Tho students stu-dents arc also doing good work in the biology department. The home economies eco-nomies department of the Ogden luh Is far superior to that of the eastern school. "In visiting this school and others In New fork City, I noticed that the teachers were almost entirely Wonqi n, few men being employed as Instructors." |
