Treasury Charles (. Dawes of Illinois. Illi-nois. War Ex-Senator John V. Weeks of Massachusetts. Navy Governor Frank 0. Lowden of Illinois. Attorney general-H. M. Daugherty of Ohio. Postmaster general- Will S. Hays J of Indiana. Interior Ex Senator' George Slither I land of Utah. Agriculture Henry Wallace ofj Iowa. J Commerce Open. Labor Open. Explaining why he has left commerce com-merce and labor blank. Mr Sullivan says: "It would not be possible to make j surmises as to the departments ofj commerce and labor without going far ! ther afield and gelling into an area where at the present moment the : probabilities are more vague than they are in the foregoing list. For that mailer, it is quite possible, and eves probable, that there may be changes in this list, especially as re gards three of the posts, after Senator I Harding returns and w hen he faces the necessity of fitting the cabinet to-gethjsr to-gethjsr as a whole for a final and com plete announcement In a sense, the j selections for three of the posts named are contingent on wbai may be done ' w hen the names for commerce and la-1 jbor are definitely chosen." I Sullhan points out that the names' of Lowden and Sutherland appearing ' in the list m3y prove a surprise but jhe explains thai former Senator Suth jerland Is a close personal friend of (the president elect and furthermore, being a western man. is particularly i j fitted for the duties of secretary of I the interior Our own guess Is that 1 Sutherland is aiming higher and will be attorney general or wait a vacancy on the supreme bench |
