Show J r browns accident lec luent in our last issue issup 0 we o mentioned that mr nir besre F bronn brown engineer on the D K R G R II 11 bad had been injured on saturday morning morn ing we have since ce learned the particulars ag a to abe th diat lature we of hi b ip s injuries when ten miles cast of pleasant valley junction the engine jumped from the track from some unknown cause caused and lipped over ou on its side mr brown was unable to get out of cab and was caught by tho the boiler which projected projected into the cab and crushed ou his left leg eg and foot at tho the same time badly scalding the tile same membris mcm mem beis the train to which this accident occurred being a freight train there were only four jtb other er parties on the train at the time the fireman the conductor and two brakemen all of whom however were unable despite their moat solicitous efforts to relieve their unfortunate friend and companion for some but finally they succeeded in rescuing him hini franf hia his perilous and painful condition he ile was brought to hia family residence on tho tile bench in this city saturday evening when dr P L andersen anderson was summoned to give tho the wounded mau man the benefit of hig his surgical skill which as of course was done as satisfactorily as tho the circumstances cum stances allowed fio that wo are pleased to state today to day that mr brown is progressing finely no amputation having been necessary |
