Show from friday daily oct lj RUNAWAY A team from wallard city glnn away sethre bodily injury sustained today to day about a runaway occurred in this city that occasioned severe injury to two persons and probably fatal results to an aged lady named mrs M A II of willard city tho affair as far as can be learned was purely acci den laland occurred in the following manner this morning master A C wells aged 14 years accompanied by his grandmother mrs M A II and aunt mrs M merrill all of Willard started in a spring wagon drawn by a span of horses for oden the lad being entrusted with the lines all went well the party made several purchases and drove upon the bench to visit a family living not far from liberty square upon their return and when at the top of the court hill alie horses commenced to run the lad tried to bold the animals but they bad the start of him he was unable to put on the brake and the consequence was that when they arrived at the bottom of the kiil liil he horses made a short turn he vehicle was overturned and the partis thrown violently to the ground the lad thrown let go of the lines both the lad and mra merrill somewhat shaken he receiving a wound on the hip mrs M had a severe gash inflicted over her right eye but the worst injuries were by mrs iyub bard this lady being picked up in an condition and conveyed to the building and drs williamg and condon being sent for were soon in attendance mrs II was fearfully inure about the face but at this writing it is impossible to give the extent of the hurts received by the unfortunate lady she complains of a fearful pain in her back and from indications it would seem that the lady has received one or wo severe fractures after being at mr Ward leighs store for about an hour thein fortunate lady was taken to the house of mr A J shupe on north main street where she is at present suffering ring severely we trust that mrs aub bard may recover from the result of her accident and liepe that a thorough diagnosis will prove mrs hub bards injuries to be less serious than is now anticipated |
