Show Society SURPRISE PARTY Mrs. Anna Noble was delightfully surprised last evening when a number of friends gathered at the home of Mrs. James George, 64 R Twenty-eighth street. Mrs. Noble and her husband leaves In the near future to take up mission work for the L. D. S. church in England. Twenty-eight senior girls were present besides the leading guests, Mrs. Noble, Mrs. Walter Bingham, Bing-ham, Mrs. Mary A. White, Mrs. Walter Wal-ter Jerrill and Mrs. Lawrence Morten-sen. Morten-sen. After an evening spent in games and musical entertainment, a fountain pen was presented by the guests tp Mrs. Noble. At the close of the evening eve-ning a delicious luncheon was served by the hostess, Mrs. George. RETURNS TO OGDEN Margaret M. Burns has returned to Ogden from Vancouver, British Columbia, Col-umbia, where she was called by the serious illness of her father. COUPLE WKDS I L. R. Adamson of Ogden was married mar-ried to Miss Nell M. Deering of Silver Bay, New York. The wedding took place on Thursday,- June 24 in the First Presbyterian church , of Salt Lake' with Rev. George E. Davis performing the ceremony. After a short stay at the Hotel Utah, Mr. and Mrs. Adam-son Adam-son will return to Ogden where they will make their home. Mr. Adamson is purchasing agent of the Lion Coal company. LADLES AID The Ladies Aid Society of the English Eng-lish luthcran church will meet Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon at the homo of Mrs. Peter Swanson, 2 767 Grant avenue. All requested to be present. COMPLIMENT DENVER GUEST Complimenting Miss Estelle Parnell of Denver, who is the house guest of Mrs. Charles Parnell of this city, Mrs. O. Q. Millar entertained at a dlnnneri lyesterday afternoon. This afternoonl Miss Parnell Is to be entertained by Mrs. Mark Fuller at her home on Thirtieth street. Wednesday, Mrs. Matthew Wheelwright will entertain for the charming visitor. MOTOR TO SOUTH FORK A party of friends motored to South Fork canyon Sunday afternoon' and held a picnic luncheon in one of the pretty and attractive spots found In the canyon. The party was held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Moore and their children of Twin Kails who are visiting in Oeden at the residence ofj Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Stone. The afternoon after-noon was spent in climbing and games followed by a basket luncheon served to the following guests, Mr. and Mrs. L, T. Moore, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Stone, Mr. and Mrs. R. R Goodman, Mr. and J. B. Nye, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Piper, and baby, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Noble, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stevens and daughter. daugh-ter. Miss Melba and Baby Leonard Moore, and Clyde Stone. The party returned to Ogden Sunday evening. MISSION CIRCLE Tho Woman's Foreign Mission society soci-ety of the Methodist church will meet Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence of Mrs. J. J. Malone, 1232 Twenty-fifth street. LIVE OAK CLUB Mrs. Laura B. Carey will be hostess to the members of the Live Oak Society So-ciety Wednesday afternoon at her home at 2 o'clock. A full attendance is requested.
