Utah. Section 1. That Section 639 of Chapter i 33 and Section 648 of Chapter 38 of tho revised re-vised ordinances of Ogdcn City as amend- t ed by ordinances adopted and passed An- , gust 29, 1919. and January 5, 1920. be and the name are hereby amended to read as i follows: , Section 639. Tho Board of Commission- ers shall appoint a competent person to ( act as Captain of Police. The Board of Commissioners may at any time remove i such Captain of Police, or any other offl- ecr. without cause, and without charges being preferred, and without a trial, hearing hear-ing or opportunity to be heard, whenever -In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners Commis-sioners tho cood of the service will be subserved thereby, and the action of the , Board of Commissioners In making such -removal shall be final and conclusive. The City Recorder Bhall forthwith notify the Captapln of Police or any other officer In writing of his removal and from tho . time of such notification the person so removed shall in no caso be entitled to any salary or compensation whatsoever. 1 Tire Captatn of Police shall furnish a. hond In the sum of Five Thousand ($5,000.00) ' Dollars, said bond to be approved by the Board of City Commissioners. Section 648. The officers, employes, men and agents of the Police Department shall receive monthly salaries, payablo as aro the salaries of other city officers, in amounts, as follows: Captain of police, ox-offlclo Jailer and ball commissioner 5185.00 Sergeant 180.00 Patrolmen, first class 140.00 Patrolman, second class 130.00 Plain clothes officer, first class.. 140.00 Plain clothes offlcor, second class.. 130.00 Detective, first class 140,00 Dotectlve, second class 130.00 Traffic officer 140.00 Motorcyclo officer, first class 140.00 Motorcyclo officer, second class... 120.00. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Ogdcn City it in necessary' nec-essary' to the peace, and safety and general gen-eral welfare of Ogdcn Cltv that this ordinance ordi-nance become effective Immediately.
