Show GRIMES APPOINTED TO SOLDIER COMMISSION SALT LAKE, April 10. O. J. Grimes, secretary to Governor Bamberger, Bam-berger, was yesterday appointed secretary secre-tary of the o) fliers' settlement com mission, created by the lasl BesBlon of the legislature. Mr. Grimes appointment appoint-ment was one of the fir t acta o the board, tbe meeting yesterday having 'been the first since V. R. Wallace wac I appointed chairman by the governor I The other two members are George F jMcGonagle, the state engineer, and Dr. E. P. Peterson, president, of the Agri cultural college. I Arrangements are being made by i Chairman Wallac e to have a meeting of tbe members of the commission i with Senator Smoot. Senator Kine land Governor Bamberger early next week. At this meeting It is proposed 10 discuss the possible projects in Utah, with a view to selecting the ;most feasible one to provide larni fur returning soldiers and sailors. The next session of congress will take up at an early date ihe question , of tbe government s share in financing financ-ing similar projects throughout the ! United States. It la the desire of the j Utah commlpsion to work in perfect I harmony with the Utah delegation in congress, in order that the combined influence of the senators, the governor gover-nor and the settlement commission may be placed behind a certain d signaled sig-naled project and efforts made to secure se-cure as much assistance for it as nos isible from Ihe federal government.
