First announcement announce-ment ot awards to naval officers for distinguished service during the war was made t the Boston navy ard to-!rta. to-!rta. Bear Admiral Herbert O. Dunn, commanding the first naval district, was the onl) recipient here of the distinguished dis-tinguished service medal. The citation which accompanied the honor to Rear Admiral Dunn, said it was given "for exceptionally meritorious meritor-ious service In a duty of great responsibility respon-sibility is commanding officer of the naval station at l'onla Deignda. Asores. The distinguished service cross was SWarded eleven other officers, among them Rear Admiral R. S.
