Show Water Pipe Too Small. P. M. 1 have laid 1.400 feet of pipe to convey water to my bouse. Halt of this pipe Is half-Inch and the other half la Inch plpo. The water runs so slowly that four minutes are required to fill a common water pall. What la probably tba cause of the alow delivery? deliv-ery? The difficulty In thla Instance appears ap-pears to be caused by the great length of one half-Inch pipe. The correspoo-rinnt correspoo-rinnt does Dot Rive particulars enough. He ahould mention approximately tha amount of fall that there la and also how much he requires. Aa It la, ! can only calculnto roughly tha amount of fall and guess at tha amount of water ho requlrea. From my understanding under-standing of the question, I have cal culated the total fall to ba about thirty-six feet, although In making that calculation I bad to assume certain things for Instance, the character of the pipe usod whether smooth or rough. At any rate It an Inch pipe la substituted for the ooe-half lneb pipe In the first soven hundred feet, the amount of flow would ba three gallons or moro pur minute Instead ot three-quarters as at prosent. The correspondent cor-respondent states that an ordinary poll Is filled In four minutes with tba present arrangement. J. 11. R. |
