Two masked robbers held up Lou Conway'a saloon at Seattlo, Wash, shot Conwsy, Jamea Murphy and (111-bcrt (111-bcrt Mcllealh and escaped. Murphy will die. Conway'a right arm will be amputated and Mr Heath la badly hurt In tha side. The robbers then want behind tha bar and took f 100 from the rash drawer and a watch from Conway's Con-way's pocket. Conway la a brother of City Councilman James Conway. There were five men In tho saloon whon the shooting occurred. In an Instnnt one of tha bandits leveled lev-eled his revolver at Conway's head and said: "Throw up your hands." Conway thought tho man waa Joking. Jok-ing. "What do you mean?" answered Conway. "I won't throw up my hands." "Well. I will show you," was the reply, re-ply, snd tli" hamllt fired point blank at Conway. The bullet struck the saloon man's left arm and he dropped behind the bar. The bandit fired again Juat aa Murphy Mur-phy hsr) turned around to aee what the Iroiibln was. Tho second bullet struck Murphy squarely In the abdomen. Mcllealh sinned to run to the back door when a bullet caught him In the left side. I.onancld put up his hands and a fourth bullet went by his head. There waa one more ahot fired, but It struck no one. |
