Show WOULD BAN PARTISAN POLITICS FROM SCHOOL SALT LAKE. July 3 Decision to eliminate partisan politics from school systems of the United States, and determination de-termination to form a new organization organiza-tion to be known as a council of state departments of education, featured the conference of state superintendents of schools which held two extended sessions ses-sions yesterday at the Hotel Utah This work Is preliminary to the official offi-cial N E. A convention and will be concluded today. Nearly a score of state superintendents superintend-ents were present. Mrs. Josephine C Corless Preston, president of the N E A. prealded at the meeting. C. P. Cary. during the morning sejwlon. lead the discussion relative to the absolute divorcing of politics from the school ystema Mr. Cary Is state superintendent superin-tendent of Wisconsin schools. Motions that the president appoint committees commit-tees on permanent organization resolutions reso-lutions and finance were carried without with-out a dlMontlng vote. oo |
