Show I FACING THE WINTER When the frost is on the pumpkin notice is given by nature that winter is approaching .In these days of dropping leaves and cloudy skies, there is a disposition to take stock of the summer's work and to speculate on the period when, after the storms of December and January and blustery February, spring will return. Ogden has had a prosperous summer and is enjoying a bountiful harvest season. The prospects are most favorable for next year. All winter work will proceed at the arsenal to the south of Ogden and in the early days of next spring 1000 men will be employed on that one job Other big undertakings are planned, which make the outlook not only premising but exceedingly bright. It is a cheerful prospect just ahead, which makes the winter lose much of the gloom associated with overcast skies and bleak w inds. |
