Show 'Plea for Mere Farm Laborers Set Aside WASHINGTON, Feb. 3. By unanimous unani-mous vote the houso immigration com-Imittoe com-Imittoe has tabled a resolution by Representative Rep-resentative Hudspeth, Democrat, Tex-'as, Tex-'as, which would have permitted the temporary bringing in of Mexican (farm laborers for work, in Texas, New i Mexico and Arizona. The measure was endorsed by beet sugar growers of ten states, who declared there was a great shortage of labor and that immigration im-migration laws should be temporarily set aside to relieve the situation. The committee by the same vote, also tabled a substitute providing for the renewal of tho head tax and literacy lit-eracy test in contract with labor conditions condi-tions so far as they apply to Mexico, Canada.
