Forty 4w Witnesses i Called to Prrte el ! : Stoke Police Rum i ' Forty-two witnesses, mostly police officers, will be summoned before the citv commission to testify as to what they know about tho theft of 186 quarts of liquor from the evidence room of the police station. I This was the announcement today of 'Mayor Frank Francis. j The investigation is to be begun at II o'clock tomorrow morning at tho J citv hall, it was stated. I "Forty-two witnesses will be called," said Mayor Francis. "From this number num-ber we expect to get detailed information informa-tion as to where the liquor went. City Attorney Johnson is now preparing subpoenas for the witnesses." A court stenographer will be present to record the testimony. Former Chief of Police E. T. Browning, Brown-ing, Sergt. A. B. Jensen, Sergt. George Carey and, in fact, nearly every officer on the department will be called in the investigation. |
