Show GOeiEI JOBS FOR EX-SERVICE MEN IlIiilON Government jobs for honorably dis charged soldiers and sailors as stenographers steno-graphers and typists are ready for all those who are willing to work in Washington, D. C, according to an announcement an-nouncement received in Ogden. This Is the United States Civil Service Ser-vice Commissioner's answer to the complaint so often heard during the demobilization of the Array, that civilians civil-ians and women filled the clerical places plac-es in Washington which should be given giv-en to returned fighting men. Ex-service men now have preference on all the lists, under the law. The official bulletin reads: "The Government needs large numbers num-bers of stenographers and typists in Washington, D. C. "Usual entrance salaries are $1,000 to a year, plus tne bonus of $20 a month authorized by Congress. Higher-salaried positions are usually filled through promotion. "The Homes Registration Bureau of the Community Service constantly maintains a list of available rooming and boarding places in Washington. Living conditions are considerably improved. im-proved. "Full information and application blanks may be obtained from the So. eretary of the Local Board of Civil Service Examiners at the post office in any city." oo |
