Show SCENIC DHIVEWAY IS BEING BUILT HEAR SILT LIKE . District Engineer J. P. Martin of the forest service offices, has returned I from a trip to the Bpghton-Tyng pro-Iject pro-Iject near Salt Lake rnd while in that 1 vicinity, made a-tour of the Salt Lake scen.c highway, expected to be com-; com-; plcted during the latter part of next i summer. Mr. Martin sta'es that the scenic , road will be one of the most wonderful ; highways in the stnte. Plans have been bein made so that the tourists who , travt l the road will be able to see practically the best of the scenery in 'ihe vicinity in a minimum of time. The entire trip will be about 100 mile 'and will swing in a large loop. The first leg of the journey will be be tween Sail Lake and American Fori: This part of the trip will cover Parley's canyph to the summit of the moun tain", an elevation of 10,000 feet. The road will then follow Mill creek and will pass Big Cottonwood Creek j Brighton. Little Cottonwood creek and I on through American I'ork to Tg The road will then run to the ci: of American Pork, completing the firs" leg. The section of road between Brighton Brigh-ton and Tyng. while b'ji l ight milt -long, will nccesoltate an expenditure of $150,000 The entire road will cost in the neighborhood of half a million j-.li.. UUIli1I. On the return trip, the tourist will! follow the present road btwen Amer I lean Fork and Draper. Here a short cut j is being made and the highway swing h to ihe bench lands Where it continues, i crossing three creeks, and running! through Port Douglas to Salt Lake tin the return leg of the Journey the road j I Will cross Parle, s canyon and at this) 'point will be built a $200,000 cemcm j ,arch bridge This bride, Mr. Martin stated, will be built bv Salt Lake county and will be 1000 feet long, spanning the canyon.
