Show Freight Committee I To Have Headquarters In Salt Lake City SALT LAKE, June 16 The news I ef the creation of a Salt Lake district freight traffic committee was receivea yesterday at the local federal railroad j headquarters The committee, similar ' to the one located in San Francisco, i win be composed, it Is understood, of J. A. Reeves, genera! freight agent of the Oregon Short Line, chairman; B. I W. Robbins, assistant freight agent ol the Denver & Rio Grande; S. H. iove, (traffic manager of the Utah-Idaho Su-gat Su-gat rompany. and O. B. Graff, seere tary of the Boise. Idaho, Commercial club. Jurisdiction of the newly formed committee, it is said, will extend over all the federal controlled railroads in Utah, eouthern Idaho, and also of tho Union Pacific west of Green River. It will not, however, cover the business between Utah and California. The creation of the new committee was not unfxroptKl nmone Chi mil road officials. Max Thelen, director of public service of tho federal administration, admin-istration, in a recent interview in this city, spoke of the need of a Salt Like district freight committee and remarked re-marked that it might be possible. The present move, it is thought, waa the one that Thelen spoke of ' as possible." It will mean tho saving of much t ine on tho part of local men with grievances griev-ances against freight and traffic rates Instead of running to the committee at San Francisco or Portland, th tr ruble ru-ble can now be settled by tho lo;al board.
