Show son iron mis SUFFERED FROM THE FROST Assistant District Forester Ernest .Winkler returned to Ogden this morning morn-ing from an extended tour of the southern part of the state, investigating investigat-ing matters relating to the administration adminis-tration of the national forests in that soction "The recent frost," said Mr. Winkler, did considerable damage to crops in that section, except in the St. George valley where there was no frost whatever. Farmers are now cutting their first hay which is far below the average. The extreme dry spell of the last month and hot winds has prov-ed prov-ed detrimental to agricultural and range conditions." Assistant District Forester C. N. Woods also returned to Ogden this morning from a trip of inspection of the cattle ranges within the national forests in Idaho He says that the low ranges are in a very poor condition but the high ranges are excellent. |
