Show BODY OF SUICIDE IS FOUND 01 FOLK AVENUE The body of a man about 70 years of age, with a revolver tightly clutched in his right hand, was found yesterday afternoon about i o clock, lying alongside along-side the road near the corner of Twen ty-sevenfh street and Polk avenues A hole through the head and three empty cartridges In the gun furnish sufficient evidence that the man tonl his own life. The body was found by J Orson Douglas, in lookinnr over some property in that part of tho city, who immed lately notified the police The body-was body-was removed to the Kirlcendall tin dertaking parlors for burial prepare tions A thrift stamp card bearing the name of William Miller was the only evider.ee found leading to the probable Identification of the body. The sum of $ 1 5.58 in cash was in the man's pockets. It ia believed that he nad been dead about 10 hours A local expressman noiitied the police po-lice this morning that he had taken a man answering the description ot the suicide, with a load of baggage to the extreme eastern end of Twenty -fr.urth street early Tuesday morning. The po!e. investigated this clew this morning, hut no further means of identification iden-tification had been found at a late hour today. That the man took his own life alongside the road so that his body would be found by the first passer-by, is ihe opinion held by Sergeant of Police Po-lice a. B. Jensen The body was on the left side of the round, ahoul .ri0 reet from the corner cor-ner of Twenty seventh streel on Polk avenue, and more than 600 feet from the nearest house. SCHODLS IDE TO OPE! FOR NEW TERM Ogden City schools will open on September 15, according to Inform & tion given out today at the office of the board of education, unless the can-ners can-ners of the county make arrangements arrange-ments with the board to postpone th opening of the schools until the fruit crop rush Is over. The board of education edu-cation will meet tomorrow night and probably will take up tho subject. Tho canners made a request to the board early last June to have the schools open at a late period, to enable en-able the canners to he assisted by the school children. At that time the reopening re-opening of the schools was set for September 15. Superintendent W. Karl Hopkins it expected to arrive Saturday or the first of next week. Captain Henry Bobrink. who is to have charge of the cadet corps at the Ogden high school, has been released from his present duty with the United States army and is expected in Ogd2n about tho last of the month. |
