Show WATER STORAGE NEAR EEHO IS FOR THE LANDS OF WEBER COUNTY, ALSO DAVIS COUNTY SALT LAKE. Oct. 16. Immediate steps will be taken to form an organl cation to build a reservoir on Lo?t crock, above Morgan, to irrigate sev-earl sev-earl thousand acres of land In Morgan county. This decision was reached at a meeting of the executive board of the Utah Water Storage association held yesterday afternoon, at which James H. Anderson, chairman of the Morgan county committee, was pres ent Mr. Anderson 'was advised by the water storage association officials that they had officially approved of the project and stood ready to rendei every possible aid A resolution was passed by the board at the meeting, requesting the I state engineer to release for entry the ' flood waters on Lost creek, so that the necessary filings may be made. Some time ago. In order to permit the association asso-ciation to make a complete BUrvej of ih Prove and Weber river watersheds all surplus waters were withdrawn by the state engineer. With the asso-ciation's asso-ciation's recommendation, however, til Is considered likely that the Lost I creek waters will be released. I Engineers of the association have completed an accurate preliminary 'survey of the reservoir site, and have I also made preliminary drawings of a dam. It is estimated that between '5000 and 7000 acre-feet of water can be stored, with dam approximately 110 feet In height The water will b used to supplement the supply now available in Morgan county from ihe Webet river, and will permit a considerable consid-erable expansion of the agricultural resources of the section. It is the first engineering stud to be completed by the association and to receive its ;,p proval. A. F. Parker, chief engineer of the association, also made a report on the progress of the surveys on the Weber . river and presented drawings madi-from madi-from surveys of the Echo reservoir site, now being completed. The reservoir, reser-voir, as contemplated, would he one of the largest of its type in America.. ' and would Impound 50.000 to 60.000 acre-feet of water for use In Weber 'and Dals counties, adding vastly to the agricultural wealth of that section of the state.
