(By Mail) General Gen-eral Pershing has expressed his appreciation ap-preciation for the splendid services rendered to the American Expeditionary Expedition-ary force by the Jewish Welfare Board" in a letter he has sent to Colonel Col-onel Harry Cutler, chairman of that j board The American commander added that from the opening of Its work in the summer of 191S the representatives rep-resentatives of the Jewish Welfare board, during the remaining months of hostilities, did valuable work among the soldiers of the Jewish faith and others. j "Since the signing of the armistice" General Pershing wrote, "you have grasped the opportunity for increased recreational facilities and have increased in-creased your personnel, opened additional addi-tional club rooms at important centers and shown a commendable eaccmess to cooperate with the army and the other welfare societies, and to bear your full share of the responsibilit for keeping up this important work until un-til all troops can be returned to America." |
