Show I ' j Letter From Citizen 1 1 I who is indignant at wasteful methods practiced by some local R 1 dealers. We have received dozens of such letters, more will M I be published Saturday and Sunday. HE 1 Ogden, Utah, August 7, 1918. D HM 1 I 'skaggs' Cash Stores: I HE I The Ink was hardly dry on the evening paper last night I HI m before a group of people in the Hudson building were dls- U HI & cussing the points In your advertisement In which you re- H a ferred to the waste and inefficiency of certain grocers of IB this city But wasn't your tone rather mild In dealing with fl H 3 these offenders? Most certainly It was. Won't you kindly - 1 Ml give more space to this all-Important subject?. I ID The old'style-get-the-high-price-merchant must pass n H into the discard for the newer efficiency AN EXIGENCY M M THAT THINKING PEOPLE DEMAND! H i Why didn't you tell that when cherries were costing the j HI ? grocers 6 cents a pound, they were retailed by some deal- I D t crs at 15 cents and the price maintained? Now by selling H 3 60 pounds at 15 cents they brought $9.00 to the store. This I M was profit indeed! The remaining forty pounds were I H :l spoiled and dumped! Why would it not have been better M l to sell them all at 9 cents at the start and give Ogdcn's HII j purchasers the benefit of the price? Ah, no! Nothing like jj H l ' that from the old High Priccrs! They would rather get 1 H j 15 cents a pound for a few and thus maintain their old I H j styles of Inefficiency and throw the remainder away. g H , 2 The REAL merchant when he sees a slow-selling article jj H) I puts a price on it that will move it quickly. Bufnot these b r H obtuse merchants! Sail into 'em, Skaggs, a great many of ft M j us are with you to the end! OLD RtSlDENT. j H j Why not some patriotic person, who has the time, watch these H j stores who are offenders and get accurate information. We , 1 I vould be glad to publish the names of those guilty, together j j I with the amount of their wastefulness. Besides the matter $ j j p would then be in shape to present to the proper authorities. J Skaggs. FresSi Meat Saturday j 1 Supply usually lasts from 8 to 11.
