Show LAST OF LABORERS LEAVING FOR NITRO SALT LAKE, Oct. 31 Final shipment ship-ment of laborers on a totnl allotment of 2000 for Nltro, W. Va., will be made this evening, according to P. J. Mo-ran, Mo-ran, director in charge of the local bureau United States employment service ser-vice The shipment will consist of 200 laborers. Enlistments for the Nitro plant were started about six weeks ago, the first quota being 500. This number was signed In less than three weeks, and orders were issued to continue recruiting re-cruiting in Salt Lake for a district comprising Utah. Wyoming and Idaho until 200 workers" had been sent to Nltro. Workers are to be enlisted for i Mussel Shoals, Ala. In addition, a call I Is to bo issued for workers to be sent to the "Old Hickory" plant of the Du Pont Powder company at Nashville. Mrs. Addle Soper, in charge of the women's department of the employment employ-ment service, has been asked to sign five experienced women stenographers to go to Mussel Shoals. Information concerning the positions, salary and transportation details will be supplied on application to Mrs. Soper. Fifty union bricklayers also are wanted for Mussel Shoals. |
