Show Army lias Many Eyes That Never Close Day or Night WITH THE AMERICAN FORCES IN FRANCE, Sept. 28 An army has many eyos, and they never close. Atj night the eyos are not so useful as! during tho day, of course, but when darkness comes the army uses its ears listening posts hero and here beyond the front line. Soldlors crawl, sometimes some-times even within the cnomy's lines, and crawl back again before daylight and report what they havo heard. During tho day aviators are roport-ing roport-ing from time to time after flights, detailing de-tailing what they have seen beyond the front From hills, troe-tops, high buildings, village church steeples and) various heights, Including captive balloons, bal-loons, movements of the enemy arc observed by strong glasses ton to fifteen fif-teen miloB back of the lines. Every movement of troops or equipment seen by an observer Is reported.
